Katherine Gronberg

Lecturer in Management – Strategic Management

Katherine Gronberg is a part-time lecturer at Rice Business and teaches Management 561: Business-Government Relations. She currently serves as the head of government services for NightDragon, a venture capital firm investing in and advising innovative growth and late- stage companies within the cybersecurity, safety, security and privacy industry. At NightDragon, Katherine focuses on bringing innovative technologies to government agencies to enable mission success and supports the expansion of portfolio companies into critical government markets. Prior to NightDragon, she served as the vice president of government affairs for Forescout Technologies, a global cybersecurity company. As a leading voice on cybersecurity policy issues, Katherine has appeared on and provided commentary for Bloomberg, Fortune, National Public Radio, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times and other media outlets.

Katherine has previously taught master’s-level courses in cybersecurity, business-government relations and the national security budget at Georgetown’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service. Prior to Georgetown, she founded and managed her own consulting firm, Gronberg Consulting, L.L.C., where she advised Fortune 500 companies on their government relations strategies. Prior to this, Katherine was an associate at Morhard & Associates, a government affairs consulting firm.  She began her Washington career in 2000 as a professional staff member, and later staff director, on the Senate Appropriations Committee, Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, State, the Judiciary and Related Agencies (CJS). Katherine holds a bachelor’s degree from Yale University, an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business and is a former Fulbright Scholar.
