THE RICE BUSINESS EXPERIENCE

Delivered Online

Rice Business has long been known for innovation, transformation and our tight-knit community in Houston. Today, that legacy remains available to you through our online MBA program, MBA@Rice, which delivers the same engaging experiences and degree as its on-campus equivalent.

At Rice, Business Is Personal

We believe curious minds and entrepreneurial spirits grow in an environment that’s personal and collaborative, which is why we’ve designed the Rice Business digital campus and online MBA experience to serve you a top-notch Rice education.

Our online MBA program was created with busy professionals in mind—creating high-touch experiences that support you and your career goals at work and at home. Whether you’re a multitasking parent or military member serving your country, we’ve built an experience for you, and it’s based on real research that examines how online MBA students learn.

Pursuing my MBA at Rice in the MBA@Rice program has redefined my perspective of business and how I personally impact and contribute to the bottom line.”

Classes:
Live and Collaborative

Join professionals from different backgrounds and levels of expertise in weekly live classes led by distinguished Rice faculty. The online classroom is collaborative by nature. You can expect lively real-time discussion and virtual breakout rooms to work in smaller groups, as well as helpful in-class tools like the ability to record a session or annotate.

Coursework:
Engaging and Intuitive

Complete assignments at a time that works best for you in between your weekly classes. Designed specifically for online learners, coursework features interactive modules, videos, readings, discussion forums and quizzes. We encourage all students to meet and problem-solve in teams, so regular peer collaboration beyond the digital classroom is common.

In-Person Learning:
Immersive and In-Depth

Attend Intensive Learning Experiences—hosted on campus in Houston—and Global Learning Experiences—hosted in business hubs around the globe—to take your education across physical and cultural borders. You’ll connect with peers and faculty in a whole new way and apply your learnings through collaborative assignments that challenge you to think critically.

Make Meaningful Connections

Our small, tight-knit community is known for being driven and diverse but also welcoming and kind. Student life at Rice Business is about more than networks and professional development—it’s also about friendship.

The collaborative online experience and small student body make it easy to form close relationships—and those relationships often grow to become lifelong connections. Once you graduate, you’ll be part of a supportive, worldwide network of 82,000 Rice Business and Rice University alumni spanning 50+ countries and every major industry.

It seems like our relationships are stronger because of meeting from a distance. The online program with Rice builds this network that can last a lot longer than people who have only ever been on campus together. We’ve already started strong bonds while being far apart.”

JAZ WILSON,

MBA@Rice Graduate

Regardless of when you attended or where you are in your journey, the Rice Business family is there for you. We have regular touch points and live communication with our dean, professors and class instructors — and that goes for alumni as well. Many of these professors and alumni have extraordinary academic pedigrees and do very important work, but they pick up every time you call and respond to every email.”
