Your Rice University Student Accounts

After completing your enrollment, you will receive an email containing your Student ID number (SID) and instructions for setting up your Rice University Webmail account and accessing ESTHER.

Rice Email

All students are required to use their Rice University email accounts. Do not wait to activate your Rice email—all communication and updates from the University will be sent to this address, including your financial aid notifications. 

Please follow the instructions within the tech pack document to complete your email setup. Note: If you are having trouble with these Rice credentials, please contact the help desk.

ESTHER (Employee and Student Tools, Help, and Electronic Resources)

ESTHER is the web application for students to register for classes, pay tuition, and retrieve data such as grades and account information. Before your initial login to ESTHER, you will need to use your SID number to activate your NetID and set your NetID password.

Once you’ve completed the setup process, you will be able to use ESTHER to:

  • Update your contact information
  • View the course catalog and the schedule of course offerings
  • Register, add, and drop courses (please see note below)
  • Look at your course schedule
  • Examine your academic history, including final grades and unofficial transcript
  • Find information about holds on your account
  • Obtain enrollment verifications
  • Review charges and payments
  • Pay your account online

Digital Campus

Digital Campus is the program learning management platform where you will access your coursework and materials.
